Corona pandemic continues. Many events and promotions cannot take place in the first half of 2021.
Support Casper organizes corona-proof OAK I participate activation in which the Netherlands moves for research against pancreatic cancer.
October 9 – Support Casper Lustrum Gala yields record proceeds of € 1.197.960,-

2022

Aida Farshadi succeeds in developing a 3D model based on the tumor cells of pancreatic cancer patients who are resistant to chemotherapy. This model (also called organoids) makes researching the effect of new treatment methods faster, easier and free of animal testing.
Research by Dr. Fleur van der Sijde provides insight into whether or not the most commonly used chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer (FOLFIRINOX) is effective. Based on her results, a follow-up study has been started to offer patients a more tailored treatment in the future and to prevent unnecessary, heavy chemo.
First edition of Tour de Pancreas organized together with the Eck Roosen Foundation. We conquer Mont Ventoux on foot and by bike.

The new production space for ATMPs was put into use at the Erasmus MC in September.

On the first day of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month we launched the magazine: 'Over Leven met alvleesklierkanker'. A glossy magazine about living with pancreatic cancer. But above all about love, comfort and connection.
The farewell symposium of Prof. Dr. takes place on Friday, October 27. Casper van Eijck at the Erasmus MC. He also received a royal decoration from Minister of VWS Ernst Kuipers.

2024

Erasmus MC introduces Dr. Nigel Kooreman as the successor to Prof. Dr. Casper van Eijck. In his new position, Nigel Kooreman will also be closely involved in ongoing research and our Foundation.
